It is important to emphasize that schools may have options that exist at the local level. Schools may also wish to implement virtual learning through a new or expanded contract with a vendor. The guidance below is focused only on MOCAP courses.

MOCAP vendors indicate that they will train local educators to deliver their content as quickly as possible. Schools considering this option should contact the vendors to plan for training timelines and other aspects of implementation.

Several MOCAP vendors have indicated that they will accept enrollment at any time with district approval. One of the vendors, Launch, customarily requires a minimum of 20 days for students to complete the courses. Another vendor, Mizzou Academy, reports that they accept enrollment at any time, but limit course duration to six months. Vendors indicated that they have capacity to take additional enrollees. Vendors experiencing a large increase in enrollment may exceed their current capacity. Schools should consider their own enrollment needs and plan accordingly. LEAs are encouraged to contact vendors if this option is being considered in their district/school.

DESE has contacted its MOCAP vendors with regard to both if and how the vendors could support schools during an extended closure. The following vendors have supplied their information.

If virtual learning is implemented through the MOCAP program, enrollment procedures will remain as with routine MOCAP enrollment.
